Objectives
The goal of the program is to implement the master plan for creating a technopark for high-technology businesses in Gyumri, which was created back in 2008. The international expert is expected to provide assistance to the Ministry of Economy in implementing the recommendations set forth in the Gyumri technopark strategy development roadmap and making new ones pertaining to the establishment of Gyumri technocity.
Program description
The international expert, Kevin Thomstone, representing the Shannon International Development Consultants, will provide the assistance. He was hired to develop the strategy for Gyumri Technopark development in 2008 and based on his recommendations the Government of Armenia and several international donors have embarked the project implementation. A local expert will be hired to assist the international expert.
As part of assistance, the international expert will assist the Ministry of Economy in setting the structure of the Gyumri Economic Development Foundation; developing the action plan of the Foundation, conduct training for the senior staff of this new unit; assisting the Gyumri Economic Development Foundation in providing pilot services as well as assisting the group of local expert in developing the business plan for the incubation center.
